Your financial planning roadmap
Think of it like planning a proper road trip. You need to know where you're starting from, where you're actually trying to get to, and a route that holds up once it meets the real terrain — not just the version that looks good on a map.
Here's exactly what that looks like, stage by stage.
01
~20–30 MIN · IN YOUR OWN TIME
Before we meet
You fill out a short questionnaire covering your income, debts, goals and comfort with risk. I read through it before we sit down, so the time we spend together goes straight to what actually matters — not admin.
-
Financial health check and risk profile
-
We review your information in advance
→ This will ensure we make the most of our first meeting
02
~60 MIN · TOGETHER
Getting to know each other
We’ll meet in person or online to explore the information you provided in your questionnaire, and what you actually want your money to do. Together we will:
-
Go through the financial planning process and the key pillars of advice
-
Identify what you are doing well and where the gaps are
Based on what you’ve shared, we’ll let you know whether we believe there is genuine value in progressing to formal advice.
→ If we agree there is value in moving forward, we’ll book a follow-up meeting and begin preparing your personalised Strategy and Engagement Proposal.
03
~3-6 HRS OF PREPARATION BY OUR TEAM, FOLLOWED BY A 60-MINUTE MEETING WITH YOU
Your strategy and engagement proposal
Behind the scenes, our team will review your circumstances and prepare a proposal outlining the key strategies we believe may benefit you and the scope of the advice and the investment required. We’ll then meet with you to walk through the proposal, explain how we work with our clients and outline what you can expect from the advice process. During the meeting, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions, understand the potential value of the advice.
→ If you decide you would like to proceed, you will receive a Letter of Engagement along with our Financial Services Guide.
04
~6-12 HRS OUR TEAM WORKS BEHIND THE SCENES
Your financial strategy
Once you agree to the Letter of Engagement, our team begins developing your financial plan. We review your existing accounts and structures, research the strategies most appropriate for your circumstances, and bring everything together into a clear and considered strategy document called a Statement of Advice (SOA).
-
Review your existing products and structures
-
Develop and stress-test strategies
-
Prepare your SOA
→ You'll have nothing to do yet — just sit tight while we do the work
05
~90 MIN · PRESENTATION OF ADVICE
Your strategy explained
We go through your Statement of Advice in detail. We’ll take you through your financial plan, explain the recommendations and show you how each strategy supports your goals. Ask anything, twice if you need to — this is your money and your decision. If it feels right and you're ready to move forward, you'll authorise an Authority To Proceed (ATP): our formal green light.
-
Walk through the full financial strategy
-
Authorise your ATP
→ You'll receive your Ongoing Service Agreement
06
ONGOING ADVICE
Bringing it to life
We work together to submit any applications to put the agreed strategies in place. We provide six monthly progress reports on the plan.
-
Implement advice
-
Daily monitoring of your portfolio and investment markets
-
Six-month progress reports
-
Annual progress meeting
→ You'll receive confirmation once everything's in place, and a plan for staying on track
